Maternity Q&A:
Whether you are having a maternity session alone, as a family or just a couple, my goal main goal of your maternity session is to make you feel gorgeous. I like to take a lifestyle approach to creating your memories, no matter the location, either inside or outside.
Maternity sessions should be done when you are 32-36 weeks pregnant.
For outside locations, I’m a sunset junkie, so in the summer we will meet for the session after 6 PM, so we can soak up every last minute of the glorious golden light over our beautiful Colorado scenery. In the winter, we will meet anytime until around 3:30 pm at your home. I do suggest more color and textures to be used. We may move around a lot to capture and utilize a variety of colors textures scenery and light.
If we are shooting in your home I will show up a little early and we will want to look everywhere to find the best light we may have to move furniture decorations etc. It is helpful if you tidy up before I arrive but the house certainly doesn’t have to be spotless. I like to use your own personal style to create timeless beautiful images.
I have a studio wardrobe you are more than welcome to use. I suggest that we plan and discuss your outfit. Clothing is so very important!
The best advice I can give you is to make sure you’re well rested on the day of your photo session, eat something and stay well hydrated. Believe it or not, bad moods can show up in pictures. The better you feel, the better you’ll look.
Newborn Q&A:
As you can tell in my pricing, I only take Newborn sessions if you are a Maternity client.
Newborn sessions are best done when baby is 7-10 days old, when they are most sleepiest and flexible. The earlier you contact me that better. I will travel to your home for your session. Your home, the session will be a lifestyle session.
My newborn session are very relaxed and laid back. Siblings are also welcomed, all sessions include family images. You should expect the session to be anywhere from 1-4 hours long. We go at babies pace. We have to stop for several diaper changes and feeding breaks during a newborn session. Even though this session mostly focuses on your child, you are welcome to be as involved or not involved as you’d like. I just ask that one parent does stay with me for the duration of the session.
Safety is my top priority when it comes to newborn sessions. I am a mother of 3 and know how important safety is for our new little people, so you will not see me pose or use dangerous props. I am also a minimalist when it comes to all my photography especially for newborns, which makes safety an easy rule to follow.
For sessions in your home, I will most likely utilize your master bed for most of the family images, so please make sure your bed is made and night stand tables are cleared. If we are in my studio, please feel free to relax. You will not have to bring anything as of props unless you would like to. Sometimes parents bring those special items that were made for baby, your own items are definitely welcomed. To be able to stay true to my style please discuss with me beforehand what you will bring, so that I can prepare. Feel free to bring snacks and drinks.
